A tragic accident claimed the lives of two Indian Army personnel when a massive boulder fell on a military convoy vehicle in Ladakh’s remote Durbuk region. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on 30 july, as the convoy was proceeding from Durbuk to Chongtash, near Charbagh.
The deceased were identified as Lieutenant Colonel Bhanu Pratap Singh Mankotia and Lance Dafadar Daljit Singh, both serving in 14 Sindh Horse. Three other officers—Major Mayank Shubham, Major Amit Dixit, and Captain Gaurav—sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Army Hospital in Leh, where their condition is reported as stable .
