SP Leader Booked for Teaching ‘A for Akhilesh, D for Dimple’ in Politicised PDA Pathshala; Akhilesh Yadav Slams FIR

Akhilesh Yadav, A Samajwadi Party (SP) leader in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district has been booked for allegedly teaching schoolchildren politicised alphabets—such as “A for Akhilesh,” “D for Dimple,” “B for Babasaheb,” and “M for Mulayam Singh Yadav”—during an event dubbed as ‘PDA Pathshala’. The incident came to light after a video from the lesson, reportedly filmed at SP leader Farhad Alam Gada’s residence in Ramnagar, began circulating widely on social media platforms.

Complaint and Police Action:
Saharanpur police registered an FIR based on a complaint filed by Main Singh, a local resident. The SP leader Akhilesh Yadav is accused of conducting unauthorised lessons using politicised content at his home, featuring children—apparently from a private school—reciting the alphabet with references to Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders and icons. The video showed students dressed in school uniforms, which drew additional attention to the session’s credibility and possible misuse of educational settings.

SP City police official Vyom Bindal confirmed the FIR against Farhad Alam Gada for spreading political content through children and breaching various government norms.

Akhilesh Yadav Responds

SP President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav criticised the FIR and the Uttar Pradesh government’s action, stating on X (formerly Twitter), “Even the British did not file an FIR for studying. The anti-education face of the BJP has now been exposed. Now the BJP will be gone forever. Condemnable.”

“PDA Pathshala” Defended by SP Leader

Farhad Gada defended the session, maintaining that the Pathshala was not just about teaching the alphabet, but “familiarising children with the great men of Samajwadi ideology.” He expressed intention to run similar awareness schools throughout the district.

Similar Incidents Across UP

This is not an isolated case. On August 2, an FIR was also filed against SP leader Rachna Singh Gautam in Kanpur’s Shahampur Garhi village for running an unauthorised ‘PDA Pathshala’ outside a government school, reportedly using political slogans and protesting the planned merger of low-enrollment schools by the state.
Police in Bhadohi booked another SP leader and a dozen supporters for involving schoolchildren in protests against state policies, with charges including misuse of government premises, spreading misinformation, and politicising children. Officials cite violations of the IT Act and Right to Education (RTE) Act.

Official Reactions and Visual Evidence

Block Education Officer Ravi Kumar Singh confirmed that photos and videos were presented to the administration, showing students chanting SP slogans and referencing the party’s PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) campaign. Officials alleged some educational content shared was factually incorrect, and materials were circulated on social media by the organisers themselves.
